Marriage is to be the express image of Jesus love and bond with the church, His Body. As humans we fall short of being that perfect image at least for now. Some day we will fulfill all of the things God has for us. It will be a glorious time! In the mean time, placing God at the core of our lives, marriage is just such a blessing. It is as imperfect as two people could possibly be and yet as holy as God always meant it to be from the beginning. Just because we are not perfect does not mean that marriage is not looked upon as holy and honorable in God’s eyes. Tonight I thank God for marriage! I celebrate the goodness of God within this sacred bond and my deepest prayer is that others will discover the gift each has in one another. To have a wife or a husband is to have a good thing. We are a gift of God and a blessing to be given over to the other for a lifetime of love, discovery, strain, difficulty and joy! Love and respect God during all of it and you will always thank God for marriage as well!
